We're telling you about their Winery

In the heart of the Loire Valley terroirs, Margot Rousseau-Petit and Natalia Santo bring a breath of fresh air. Margot and Natalia, friends and partners, founded their Winery in 2017 with a free-spirited, artisanal vision.

These two artisanWinemakers , who do not come from traditional winegrowing backgrounds, discovered the vineyards of Anjou by chance, but quickly fell in love with the craft. Margot was trained by Thomas Batardière, Natalia arrived with the same thirst for learning. Together, they honed their skills with winemakers such as Philippe Delmée and Tessa Laroche.

Today, they cultivate 4 hectares of organically grown vines: Chenin, Grolleau, Gamay, Cabernet Franc, and more recently, Pineau d'Aunis. All planted between 15 and 65 years old on a variety of terroirs (schist, clay-limestone...). They replant, graft and uproot to recreate. "Our parcels of land are always in a state of flux," they say, as a matter of course.

In the rows, no chemical inputs, but lots of energy, observation and hand work. In the cellar, the same philosophy applies: natural vinification, indigenous yeasts, no filtration, manual pressing on old vertical presses ("which we love too much to give up"), and if necessary, a touch of sulfur... but only in cases of force majeure.

From 2017 to 2022, the wines were zero-zero. Then excessive losses led them to adjust their practices, without ever denying their line of conduct: "Which doesn't prevent us from still losing wine, by the way..."

For the moment, everything is done in a 45 m² cellar. This explains the shortage of space for maturing. But in 2025, they will open a new page: a farmhouse undergoing renovation, which will enable them to age their wines in foudres, demi-muids or truncated-cone vats. The project expands without losing its soul

The cuvées tell all this story, with freshness and sincerity:

  • Rivage: a chiselled, saline Chenin Blanc with lively energy.
  • IsmaëlNatural Grolleau with a light color, crunchy red fruit and mild spices.
  • Danse de Travers A free-flowing wine, full of joy, that goes with the flow.
  • La Houle A delicate, thirst-quenching wine that lives up to its name.

Margot and Natalia are part of this young generation of Winemakers to follow closely. For lovers of lively, precise and luminous wines, this Winery is a real nugget!
