| winemaker flagship of natural wine, Axel Prüfer, Winery Le Temps des Cerises (Languedoc), mainly proposes 4 distinct vintages with 'Avanti Popolo', a 100% 60-year-old Carignan on granite and quartz, 'Fou du Roi', a blend on schists of Carignan, Grenache, Cinsault, 'Les Lendemains qui Chantent' (25-year-old Grenache at altitude on granite, his own vineyard) and 'Peur du Rouge', an experimental and joyful white Chardonnay... Axel Prüfer arrived from Germany in 1998 in the South of France and it is by chance of his encounters (Yan Rohel, Jean-François Nicq, at the time in charge of the Cave d'Estézargues and Eric Pfifferling, Winery fromAnglore, the 3 great figures of the new natural winemaking) that he plunges "naturally" into his new life at winemaker. | 2003: it is already the Time of Cherries and the time of the harvest of the 1st wine of Axel which exploits its own vineyard and rents out the rest for a total of 8.5 hectares. Evocative and provocative names, his wines are as evocative as he is. Today, he is a sorcerer's apprentice to the point of attempting long macerations on whites or blends of which he himself has forgotten the grape varieties... What a phenomenon! But what do we like about him... |
