Our opinion on this wine
Prélud Blanc 2025 - Anjou - Winery
This wine is made from a blend of plots planted on schist and sandstone soils. The vines are in the process of converting to organic farming. Yield is around 30 hl/ha. Hand-harvested, using indigenous yeasts. Aged for 6 months in stainless steel tanks.
A vibrant nose of fresh citrus (lime, grapefruit), juicy apple, and the "smoky" minerality of schist. The palate is taut and briny, with crisp acidity and a smooth, fluid texture. The finish is clean and briny. A beautiful energy for an entry-level Chenin from this producer, and one that holds its own against even their more ambitious vintages!
In short, a rare, straightforward Anjou Blanc, ideal for fans of crisp, mineral-driven Chenin Blancs. Perfect for getting a taste of Anjou Noir without breaking the bank!
