We're talking to you about his Winery

Thierry Valette is convinced that a synthesis must be found between the tradition and elegance of the great Bordeaux wines, and the more immediate approach of a wine, more on the fruit and freshness. Above all, he is convinced that to make a good wine, winemaker must help each plot to express itself, taking into account its uniqueness. The only truth is the terroir! The predominantly chalky soils in the commune of Bèlvès give the grapes a lot of finesse and minerality. Those located in the commune of St Genès-de-Castillon are partly tuff. More power and tannins. The majority of the plots receive the rays of the rising sun, which gives a quality of light very favourable to the vine. A quality that is reflected in the bottles. If you don't know... go for it! You won't regret it. Coming from a family that has been making wine for four generations, Thierry Valette took a different path before becoming the owner of Clos Puy Arnaud. He lives and thrives in the world of modern dance and jazz. Art, movement rather than earth and rootedness... The years go by. The desire to make wine and to be rooted in a terroir that is dear to him nevertheless resurfaces. He forged this desire by going to François Mitjaville's, at the very famous Château le Tertre Roteboeuf. There he discovered and deepened his knowledge of biodynamics. In 2000, he officially moved to the Clos Puy Arnaud in the Castillon.
