An exceptional Winery in the heart of Terrasses du Larzac
In the heart of the Terrasses du Larzac, in Aniane, Clos de la Barthassade embodies the new generation of great Languedoc estates. Founded in 2014 by Hélène and Guillaume Baron, both of whom trained with renowned winemakers in Burgundy(Sylvain Pataille, Dominique Derain) and ProvenceWinery de Trévallon), the Winery today extends over a mosaic of 13 hectares of vines spread across the communes of Montpeyroux, Jonquières and Saint-Saturnin. The terroir, composed of limestone scree terraces, lends the wines a singular freshness and expression, sought after by the couple as soon as they moved to the region.
A strong commitment to nature
Clos de la Barthassade is certified organic and is inspired by biodynamic principles. Most of the work in the vineyard is carried out by hand, with the aim of preserving the life of the soil and the vitality of the vines. This respectful approach to the plant also extends to the cellar, where vinification is natural, with no yeast or artificial inputs, and ageing blends tradition and innovation, using barrels, demi-muids, concrete eggs and stainless steel vats.
A range of grape varieties and authentic cuvées
Le Winery 's range reflects the diversity of Languedoc grape varieties: syrah, grenache, cinsault, mourvèdre, carignan, chenin and roussanne, not forgetting the chardonnay so dear to the founders. The cuvées, whether red, white or rosé, are distinguished by their balance, gourmandise and great drinkability. Les Gravettes ", "Les Ouvrées", "Billes de Grenache" and " Les Cargadous " are just some of the must-haves, praised for their personality and finesse.
A Languedoc reference
Today, the wines of Clos de la Barthassade are found on the finest tables and seduce wine lovers and connoisseurs alike. They bear witness to the dynamism and potential of the Terrasses du Larzac, driven by the passion and exacting standards of Hélène and Guillaume Baron, who are constantly striving to make their Winery one of the region's benchmarks.
