The Winery Jean Foillard
The wines of Jean FoillardAs the harvest progresses, Jean Foillard, winemaker , a passionate and perfectionist from Villié-Morgon in the Beaujolais region, refines and refines himself, and always multiplies his experiments in order to find that little bit extra that will make the difference. He has also obtained this difference via a schistous parcel of the mythical Côte de Py climate! The Winery Jean Foillard produces natural Gamay wines with finesse, lightness, balance and vibrancy: a must! His wines are now present on the tables of the best restaurants in France and elsewhere. A winemaker nature of BeaujolaisJean Foillard is the son of winemaker, grandson of winemaker and a cooper... His father called him back to his side in the early 1980s to help him quickly take over the family Winery . |
From 1985 onwards, it moved closer to its neighbour Marcel Lapierre to follow the know-how of Jules Chauvet, to make wines worthy of their terroirs and to find their style. He also became an accomplice of Guy Breton, Yvon Métrass, the Valette father and son, Jean-Paul Thevenet, etc. a group of winegrowers from the Beaujolais and Mâconnais regions who are going against the grain, but who are all free and independent. Top Beaujolais winesJean and Agnès Foillard offer, on their 16 ha of Gamay, racy, fruity natural wines with a good density. Such complexity for natural Beaujolais wines is rare. You should also discover the beautiful wines concocted by their son Alex, who is part of the new Beaujolais generation, along with Pierre Cotton, Mathieu Lapierre and Yann Bertrand. Thank you Jean Foillard!
