The Nature Method Wines commitment charter
1. 100% of the grapes (of all origins: PDO, PGI, Vin de France, etc.) intended for a wine that claims to be a "Vin méthode nature" must come from committed and certified organic farming (Agriculture Biologique or Nature & Progrès).
2. Harvesting is done by hand
3. The "Vins Méthode Nature" are vinified only with indigenous yeasts.
4. No oenological inputs are added to a Vin Méthode Nature
5. No action to voluntarily alter the constitution of the grape is permitted.
6. No recourse to brutal and traumatic physical techniques (such as: reverse osmosis, filtration, tangential filtration, flash pasteurisation, thermovinification, centrifugation) is permitted. Any other technique must have the prior opinion of the Union.
7. No sulphite is added before and during fermentation, nor in the tank ends(Possibility of adjustment within the limit of a maximum of 30 mg/l total H2SO4/l in the Frantz Paul analysis (method of measuring free and total SO2 by distillation/oxidation) for the finished wine, regardless of the colour and type of wine; obligation to provide information on the addition of sulphites, mentioned on the label by means of a dedicated logo).
8. The "Vin Méthode Nature" label is awarded each year and for each vintage after internal control by the Syndicate and on the member's declaration of honour.
10. The "Vin Méthode Nature" vintages must be clearly identifiable by consumers on the label, with the following legal mentions: the name "Vin Méthode Nature" under the name of the vat and the presence of the logo respecting our charter of use.
11. During a trade fair, both the winegrowers and the organisers undertake to present this charter alongside bottles bearing the "Vin Méthode Nature" label. Wine merchants are encouraged to do the same in their establishments.
12. The winemakers commit themselves in their own name and all the "Vin Méthode Nature" vintages will be put on line on our website www.vinmethodenature.org.
