Partida Creus: the Spanish natural wine!

The Winery Partida Creus is located in Catalonia, in Bonastre, east of Tarragona, in the Baix Penedès wine region. The wines produced are vibrant, fresh and vinified in the most natural way.

The project was initiated by Antonella Gerosa and Massimo Marchiori, an Italian couple from Piedmont.
After several years spent in Barcelona, they left the city in 2007 to settle in Bonastre, a small village of 600 souls between Tarragona and Barcelona.
When they arrived, they discovered a Winery with many abandoned vineyards, planted with many endemic grape varieties of the region.
They decided to restore these few hectares of vineyards, and so the Partida Creus adventure began.

Natural wines from Catalonia

Driven by a deep respect for nature and what it can give us, these two neo-winegrowers are committed to bringing the indigenous grape varieties and the terroir of Pénédès back into fashion.
The soils of the Pénédès appellation are mostly sandy-clay, gravelly or clay-limestone. These poor soils allow for good water drainage, giving the grapes a balance between maturity and acidity.

After several years of hard work, theSpanish Winery has become a veritable museum of Catalan grape varieties, including :

Vinyater, sumoll, garrut, monastrell, ull de perdiu, sumoll, queixal de llop, cariñena, trepat, subirat parent, maccabeu, parellada, pansé, vinel.lo, bobal, cartoixà vermell or xarel.lo

The Winery Partida Creus has succeeded in highlighting all these forgotten grape varieties with an impressive number of wines without added sulphite, recognisable by their clean labels.

Fresh and vibrant Spanish wines

The vineyard and vinification are conducted according to biodynamic principles, in relation to the lunar calendar. The Winery Partida Creus has also been certified organic for several years.
Vinification is done without adding sulphur, except for a few very rare exceptions.

Despite the high summer temperatures, the Winery manages to offer fresh and energizing juices on the fruit, thanks to the early manual harvest. The vintages have very low alcohol levels (around 10°).

Depending on the vintages and the profiles of the wines sought, Winery Partida Creus ages them in different containers (barrels / dame jeanne / vat).

The red wines are surprisingly fresh, highlighting the fruit juices, and are very easy to drink without lacking substance. These are organic wines that will go well with many dishes, including fish and meat. Be careful, however, not to serve dishes that are too rich or too powerful, as these wines are delicate.

The white wines are chiselled, with freshness of course, mixed with a nice touch of salinity reminding us that the sea is not far away. Ideal with Mediterranean dishes.
