Champagne Clandestin is a maison trading company for organic grapes grown on the Côte des Bars in Aube (Landreville).

Benoit Doussot, a Burgundian in Champagne

After attending the Lycée Viticole in Beaune and spending a few years making wine at Winery in Meursault, Benoit Doussot moved to the Aube region and worked at Winery Vouette et Sorbée, Winery a well-known biodynamic champagne producer. In 2015, Benoit set up his own maison wine merchant business.

Buying organic grapes in the Côte des Bars region

Benoit Doussot works with grapes from organic plots. These are located within a 15 km radius of Landreville, often on Kimmeridgian marl, which gives the wines a beautiful uprightness. The work of the Côte des Bar's organic winegrowers, too long under-appreciated, is highlighted by Champagnes Clandestin. Pinot Noir represents 80% of theGrape varieties and is vinified in barrels, without dosage.

Native yeasts, zero dosage

To produce authentic, original wines, the musts are fermented with indigenous yeasts. They are bottled after 12 months on lees, then kept for 15 months on laths for the foam to set.

Champagne Clandestin are sincere, non-dosed and very tasty champagnes.
