We talk to you about Antoine Marois
Antoine Marois comes from the Pays d'Auge (Normandy), a land of orchards and a beautiful agricultural region. Inspired by his childhood, he became an agronomist in the world of wine and has worked in many regions of France and Navarre. His history, his taste and his experience for the terroirs made him come back in 2016 to settle in his native region on the Winery of his grandparents (the latter, when Antoine was a child, sold the apples from the orchard to the cider cooperatives). The only mission he has set himself is to reveal the great cider-growing terroirs of the Pays d'Auge in order to produce exceptional ciders that are representative of the soil, the apple varieties, the vintage, and the organic process. Nestled at the top of a hill, the Winery Antoine Marois (18ha in total including 7.5ha of orchards), overlooks the village of Cambremer. The latter, classified as a "remarkable site of taste", gave its name to the only officially recognised Cru de Cidre in France. |
In the same way as a winemaker, Antoine Marois - like the cider producers of his "developing species" - works in his orchard to extract the authentic:
If we change the word "apple" and "variety" to "grape" and " Grape variety ", we're there, aren't we? Does this speak to you too? Each cuvée in the range comes from a single orchard where we find a mixture of apples (tart, bittersweet, red binet...) and this becomes a parcel-based cuvée expressing the diversity of its terroir. We have been terribly seduced by this work and we hope that you will let yourself be charmed like us by these beautiful ciders from Antoine Marois. |
