Lucey Winery

Winery is located in Lucey, in the Savoyard foothills, between the Rhône and Lake Bourget. Taken over in 2022 by Erwan Buchwalter and Anne-Cécile Pflieger, the Winery 6.7 hectares of organically farmed vines, certified since 2016. A preserved natural setting that inspires viticulture that respects the soil and living organisms.

After five years of training at Winery Zusslin Winery, renowned for his biodynamic practices in Alsace, Erwan Buchwalter and his family decided to embark on a new wine-growing adventure. After two years of searching, they found the ideal location on the shores of Lake Bourget, in Lucey, Savoie, where they settled as winegrowers.

A craft project guided by living things

With a background combining agricultural processing and winemaking, Erwan Buchwalter has developed an approach similar to biodynamics, favoring manual labor, indigenous yeasts, and minimal intervention in the cellar. No oenological additives are used during fermentation, except for very small doses of sulfur during bottling. This gives the wines greater clarity, balance, and expression of the terroir.

Iconic grape varieties of Savoie

80% of the vineyard is planted with Altesse, Grape variety of Roussette de Savoie, complemented by Mondeuse and Pinot Noir. Each plot is cultivated and vinified with precision to reveal the diversity of the soils and exposures, between alpine freshness and solar maturity.

Terroir-driven wines with character

The Winery single-vineyard wines with strong identities, such as Les Monettes, Les Chemins, and Les Petits Grains, as well as more free-spirited and experimental wines: Le L.A.C. (Altesse in maceration), a naturally sparkling wine made using traditional methods, and La Face B, symbolizing the transition between the old and new Winery.

Recognition from the very first vintages

The 2023 Les Monettes vintage was awarded a Gold Medal at the Concours Mondial des Vins Biologiques (World Organic Wine Competition) and selected among the 135 best organic wines in the competition, highlighting the precision and potential of Winery its early years.
