We're talking to you about his Winery
The Winery de la Grapperie was created by Renaud Guettier in 2004 in the Coteaux de Loir appellation. The terroir of choice is Chenin for the white wines and Pineau d'Aunis for the red wines. Winery de la Grapperie, with a surface area of 6 hectares, is made up of about fifteen parcels, with 50% Chenin and 50% Pineau d'Aunis. |
Wine-making: for the reds, Pineau d'Aunis is one of the oldest grape varieties in the Loire Valley. In this part of the Coteaux de Loir, it is the Grape variety king of red wines. Renaud practices long enough macerations to give the wines parameters that allow them to age well. The maturation can be more or less long, between 12 and 30 months, without any filtration.
For the whites (100% Chenin): direct pressing and fermentation in barrels with a search for complete malolactic fermentation. The wine can be aged for up to 36 months if necessary. Is it necessary to specify this? The vinification is done with indigenous yeasts and without any oenological input. Sulphur may be used on rare occasions in very (very) low doses to stabilise the wines. The red wines at Winery range from fresh, deliciously fruity to more finely crafted wines for ageing, such as the L'Enchanteresse cuvée made from century-old Pineau d'Aunis. The white wines are dry or semi-dry, depending on the vintage, and in all cases chiseled and remarkably balanced. Petites Caves went to Winery in the first quarter of 2021. Thank you Renaud for sharing some of your vintages with us! |
