We tell you about his Farm
Nicknamed "the Magician of the Orne", Jérôme Forget offers exceptional perries and ciders. Jérôme Forget arrived in 1993 at the Ferme de l'Yonnière, located in Torchamps in the Orne region (61), east of Mont Saint-Michel. As a farmer, he came at first mainly to farm. But, as time went by, Jérôme became more and more interested in the orchard on the farm, and in particular in the very beautiful two-hundred-year-old pear trees. Since 1995, Jérôme Forget has considerably developed the orchard and planted many other apple and pear trees, favouring varieties endemic to the region. Jérôme is also very involved in the PDO "Poiré Domfront" created in 2002. This PDO promotes a local variety of pear, the "Plant de Blanc", and protects this very old variety, which is strongly linked to local history and customs. |
The Ferme de l'Yonnière is managed as a "pre-orchard"; Jérôme's cows contribute fully to the maintenance of the orchards by grazing under the trees. "There is a perfect coherence between the animals and the production of fruit," he explains. All the fruit here is picked by hand and not treated. The wine is naturally foaming in the bottle. Jérôme offers high quality ciders and perries; many people call his perries "the Champagnes of the Orne". Ciders and perries for meals, and not only to be served with pancakes, you can trust us! |
