Sylvie AUGEREAU

Sylvie Augereau 's Winery is located between Saumur and Angers inthe Loire Valley. This natural wine fanatic is a real enthusiast and you can feel it in her wines. When we had the chance to meet her, she explained the history of her vineyards. Here are her words: "These vineyards are a piece of paradise that I have been waiting for for over 15 years. My grandfather, who had become a little old and tired, left them to me in 2014. So I took over the farming. There are 1.5 hectares with a breathtaking view of the Loire, between Saumur and Angers. It's not much, but a lot at the same time because I do everything on foot, by hand, right down to the label.

It is a phenomenon. Energy and convictions. Organiser of natural wine fairs, specialised journalist... and Winemaker ! All of this can be found in her natural wines. Sylvie Augereau 's wines are full-bodied, honest wines, wines of the terroir. Healthy wines.

A selection of natural wines without sulphur

Sylvie Augereau 's Winery is not huge (but it is big enough for all the work that needs to be done). She makes a very nice selection that produces very small, airy bunches of grapes and very little production (barely 15 hectolitres per hectare). They have not received any sulphur at all. Half of the wine is aged in old barrels and the other half in 400 litres of new and noble wood.
