Introducing the Winery Briailles Winery (François de Nicolaÿ) – Excellence from the Côte de Beaune
A Winery Family-Owned WineryFounded in 1834 by Countess Chandon de Briailles, this Winery has remained in the same family since its inception. Today, it is run by Claude and François de Nicolay, who took over in 2001. The Winery 14 hectares of vineyards spread across the communes of Savigny-lès-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses, and Aloxe-Corton, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. An Exceptional Terroir in BurgundyThe Winery de Briailles Winery cultivates prestigious vineyards, some of which are ranked among Burgundy’s finest climats, such as Pernand-Vergelesses “Les Vergelesses, ” Savigny-lès-Beaune “Aux Fourneaux, ” Volnay “Caillerets, ” Corton “Clos du Roy, ” and Corton-Charlemagne. These granite and limestone terroirs offer ideal conditions for producing wines of great complexity and beautiful minerality. |
Biodynamic and Sustainable ViticultureAs early as the 1980s, the Winery chemicals, adopting organic practices in 1998 and biodynamic practices in 2005. Today, it is certified by Ecocert and Demeter. The vineyards are managed with respect for the natural balance, featuring hand-harvesting and permanent grass cover. Wines are made from whole clusters, with natural fermentation and aging in oak barrels, using very little new wood.
