Portrait / Olivier Cohen, the next generation of Languedoc

After having attended the domains of Thierry Allemand and Antoine Arena, Olivier Cohen Argelliers in the Hérault region of France, he started a 7-hectare farm. And all this at the age of 27!

Born in Nice, Oliver Cohen started his career as a wine merchant for three years before going to work in the vineyards of Thierry Allemand (Cornas) and Antoine Arena (Corsica). A few years to observe and learn from these experienced and passionate winemakers. Already, the idea of taking over a Winery was germinating. He then went through a Brevet Professionnel de responsable d'exploitation agricole and then started looking for a piece of land. In January 2014, an opportunity arose, the owner of Mas Genista in Argelliers wanted to retire. Oliver takes over!

Well maintained, the vineyards allow him to get straight to the heart of the matter and to set in motion his desire to make natural wines. Renamed "Les Vignes d'Oliver", the 7ha of Winery are exploited without any chemical input in the vineyard nor any oenological correction in the wine making. Olivier is there to allow the terroir to express itself fully. The microbial life of the soil is preserved, and he limits his average production to 30 hectoliters per hectare.

His wines, real delicacies made from Merlot, Syrah, Grenache and Carignan, are to be discovered.
Long live Olivier! Long live youth!
