We're talking to you about his Winery
We fell under the charm of François Dumas ' wines: finesse, freshness and length. The Saint-Joseph and Condrieu wines are magical! Long life to Winery François Dumas that we will of course continue to follow because there is talent in this nice winemaker ! Back to the past; François is starting his own business in 2010. Back to his native village in Véranne (42), south of Condrieu, in the Pilat. Before settling down, he studied and worked for many winegrowers, including Trapet (Gevrey in Burgundy), Cuilleron and Jean-Louis Chave (Hermitage). He perfected the practical side but François Dumas understood above all where he wanted to go with his wines! As a young man winemaker, when he set up his business, François very quickly understood that the quality of the wines depends on a lot of hard work in the vineyard. | He is fortunate to have a few acres of vines of his own, to be rented out to others and to plant a few plants in mass selection (with the help of the leading nurseryman of the moment, Lilian Berillon). To date, he works almost 2 ha with an organic certification in progress. Not much surface area but he is all alone and seems to want to remain so for the moment, having "a lot of trouble delegating" as he likes to say himself. Small production, some bottling and at least 4 vintages in Vin de France since 2011 on Gamay and Syrah. Then come Saint-Joseph and Condrieu since 2013. Discover them quickly! |
