2023 Red Burgundy - Burgundy - Winery Didon
The nose is pure and rich—morello cherry, wild raspberry, rose petals, and a subtle hint of sweet spices (that powdery kind I love). On the palate, the fruit is crisp and vibrant, with a light yet intensely flavorful profile. The wine is full of energy with silky tannins. The long, briny finish evokes smoky, powdery notes and hints of the forest floor.
A natural Pinot with disarming elegance. Serve slightly chilled (13–14 °C), opening the bottle a little while before serving. Best enjoyed within 5 years, or left to age in the cellar for another two or three seasons: it will lose none of its charm.
"For this merchant-produced wine, Naïma and David Didon source their grapes right from their own backyard: 37-year-old Pinot Noir vines grown by trusted neighbors in Chassey-le-Camp, on an east-facing clay-limestone hillside, cultivated according to the same principles they follow themselves."
