Franc de Pied 2024 - Saumur-Champigny - Winery Roches Neuves
"Franc de Pied" reveals itself with a nose featuring lovely notes of flowers and delicate, expressive red berries, while on the palate, the clean, straightforward attack offers a crisp, juicy, yet delicate texture, carried by the red berries. The whole is enlivened by a light acidity that adds body and depth, resulting in a very harmonious and easy-drinking finish!
The Franc de Pied cuvée from Winery Roches Neuves is made from ungrafted vines (franc de pied), planted in deep sandy soils (6 m) at high density (8,000–10,000 vines/ha), cultivated using horses under Biodyvin/Ecocert-certified biodynamic practices, with whole-cluster vinification and a short fermentation period (8–10 days) to preserve its purity and characteristic freshness.
