More about Pueyo Vineyards

We're talking to you about his Winery

Vignobles Pueyo comprises 8.5 hectares of certified organic vineyards in the Libourne region (west of Bordeaux), planted on poor soils that allow the premier Bordeaux grape varieties—primarily Merlot here—to ripen fully. These are great Bordeaux wines, full of vibrancy, suppleness, and a lovely, lingering finish. This small Winery—by Bordeaux standards—welcomed Christophe Pueyo (fifth generation) in 2010, when he joined his uncle. Starting in 2010, the approach to vineyard management and winemaking was completely overhauled to better listen to and understand nature. The journey toward organic certification is underway: working the soil without the use of any pesticides. This work continues in the winery: no inputs, natural yeasts (obviously), filtration if necessary. The 'Bordeaux' wine is vinified and matured in vats only (stainless steel and concrete), its big brother, the 'Saint-Emilion Grand Cru', is vinified in vats and matured in 50% barrels (not new) and 50% vats. The result is extremely pleasing, red wines with supple and fine tannins and fresh black fruits. We are delighted to present this fine work to you.
