The Winery Antoine-Marie Arena

Antoine-Marie Arena, son of Antoine Arena has been producing his own wines in Patrimonio since 2014.

Family: Arena son of Arena!

After studying history-geography and obtaining a diploma in wine-making, Antoine-Marie returned to work at the family's Winery in Patrimonio in 2004, where he mainly managed the vinification. It is thus at Winery Antoine Arena that he learned everything.

The recovery of the Hauts de Carco

Antoine-Marie recovers over the years some parcels of the Winery. He In particular, he inherited the very beautiful plots of the Hauts de Carco in white, planted with bianco gentile, vermentinu and muscatet; and the Carco in red, planted with niellucciu. Little by little, his father left him the responsibility of other grape varieties such as part of the Bianco Gentile and Muscat.

The terroir of Patrimonio

At the foot of the western coast ofthe Cap Corse region ( ), on the heights overlooking the Gulf of Saint-Florent, an 8-million-year-old limestone cirque has formed at the boundary between the schist and granite formations of Corsica. This terroir, swept by the island’s five prevailing winds (grecale, sciroccu, libecciu, maistrale, tramuntana), is characterized by its geological diversity, its centuries-old expertise, and the respect for the surrounding biodiversity demonstrated by the winemakers of Patrimoniu. The distinctive character of the AOC also lies in its two main grape varieties : the Niellucciu and the Malvasgia; other varieties have since enriched this ampelography: Muscat, Biancu Gentile, Carcaghjolu Neru, Morescone, Minustellu...

The AOC Patrimonio prohibits chemical weeding

It’s official: the Corsican appellation ” (Patrimonio ) is now the first appellation in France to have included a ban on synthetic chemical herbicides in its specifications.

Like his father, the preservation of the soil is a priority with a work in biodynamics: ploughing, no treatments, natural contributions of manure, etc...

A great winemaker of Corsican wines

In the cellar, the extraction is done very gently, in the infusion mode, the macerations are short and there is generally only one pumping over. The maturing process is particularly well done, very precise and accurate. One of the specificities of Antoine-Marie Arena is to propose a very beautiful Muscat wine, not mutated as it is the tradition in the region.

Antoine-Marie Arena's wines have immediately reached a very high level, with reds offering crisp fruitiness and very silky and digestible mouthfeel and whites that are sapid, saline and very pure.
