Arena family

The Arena family is one of the leading names in Corsican winemaking and a symbol of the revival of Patrimonio wines. Settled on these lands since the 18th century, the family has truly left its mark on the appellation’s history thanks to Antoine Arena, who took over the Winery in 1976. A visionary deeply attached to his island, he expanded the vineyard, revived the use of native grape varieties, and embraced organic and then biodynamic viticulture, helping to showcase Corsica’s great terroirs far beyond the island’s borders.

His two sons, Jean-Baptiste and Antoine-Marie Arena, gradually joined the Winery in the early 2000s before each establishing their own business in 2014, while continuing to work closely with their father. Jean-Baptiste primarily cultivates the Grotte di Sole vineyards and strives to reveal the full finesse of the limestone terroirs through wines of great precision. Antoine-Marie, for his part, cultivates the famous Carco and Hauts de Carco vineyards, where he produces wines renowned for their depth, freshness, and minerality.

Today, the three estates share the same philosophy: a meticulous approach to viticulture that respects the soil and Corsican grape varieties, with minimal intervention in the cellar to allow the terroir to fully express itself. Although each estate now has its own identity, Antoine, Jean-Baptiste, and Antoine-Marie continue to work together on a daily basis, carrying on a family tradition that has become synonymous with the great wines of Corsica.
