We're talking to you about his Winery

The Winery Giudicelli, located in Patrimonio, offers Corsican wines that express themselves with finesse and naturalness.

Murielle Giudicelli has been involved in the world of wine since childhood, thanks to her parents, who are real enthusiasts. Her grandfather also owned a few vineyards that were the pride of the family.

She first took a BTS in agriculture before continuing on to a DESS in Communication. After studying Sociology, she decided in 1997 to embark on the winegrowing adventure. At the beginning, Murielle was helped by (the famous) Antoine Arena to set up in the Poggio-d'Oletta area where she took over a 5 hectare vineyard in the Patrimonio appellation. After a difficult start, alone and without experience, Murielle Giudicelli decided to meet many people, particularly in Alsace where she met André Ostertag, Jean Boxler and the Barthelmé brothers. These encounters will undeniably influence her vision on white wines.

Self-taught, she was joined by her husband Stéphane in 2005. He is fully involved in the work in the vineyard. This will considerably develop Winery and the wines produced.

The Winery now Winery 11 hectares. It has been cultivated using biodynamic methods and certified by DEMETER since 2012.
Work in the vineyard and in the cellar is guided by the lunar calendar.
On the vineyard’s diverse soils—red and gray clay, clay-limestone, granite, and schist—numerous grape varieties are grown: Grenache, Vermentinu, Niellucciu, Sciaccarellu, and small-grained Muscat.

Extensive sorting takes place during the harvest (which is done by hand, of course); the harvest is carried out in several stages to ensure the grapes reach optimal ripeness.
In the winery, Murielle intervenes very little—it all comes down to the quality of her grapes. There is no crushing or punching down for the reds; the berries macerate slowly. The whites are gently pressed as whole clusters. Aging periods vary in length depending on the cuvée and are carried out mostly in large oak casks (with some stainless steel tanks used for certain cuvées). The wines are neither filtered nor fined, and sulfur is used in homeopathic doses at bottling. All this care taken to respect the grapes and the wine naturally yields results that reflect the effort put in: clean, refined, and lively wines. The reds are Italian in style—distinctive, supple, and fruit-forward. The whites are refined, precise, and crisp, in a style we might describe as somewhat Alsatian. We warmly invite you to discover Winemaker work. It’s delicious—and beautiful! “Way to go, Murielle!”
