Choosing the right natural wine
What is a natural wine?
A natural wine is first and foremost a commitment on the part of the winemakers. They choose to grow their vines organically or biodynamically, and to limit the use of sulfites.
However, this method is not certified; it's a process that each winemaker understands in its own way. But each shares a common goal: zero inputs, as well as zero sulfites during vinification. For a better understanding of this method, please visit our dedicated page.
Why choose a natural wine?
It's worth choosing a natural wine for its winemaking method. Unlike an organic or biodynamic wine, the natural method eliminates inputs as far as possible. You'll find that winemakers are more committed to limiting the amount of sulfur they use. What's more, the natural method reverts to ancestral techniques.
What's the best natural wine?
The best natural wine really depends on individual taste. This method offers a wide variety of flavors, depending on the region, Grape variety and color.
We recommend that you choose a natural wine according to your own preferences, such as natural red, natural white or, for those looking for originality, our selection of natural orange wines. What's more, if you don't have a color preference, you can also turn to our different regions, such as Alsace, Jura and Burgundy.
How to accompany a natural wine?
This type of wine is best served cooler than a "conventional" wine. These wines are appreciated for their terroir and acidity. There are several possible pairings:
Mediterranean dishes are a great idea for pairing with natural white or orange wines . You can opt for fresh salads, such as Greek salad, or roasted vegetables, or even tapas, such as hummus.
If you have a preference for meats, plain red wine will be exquisite. Dishes accompanied by grilled meat, roast chicken or steaks are a delicious idea. Look for natural red wines with good acidity and supple tannins to accompany these dishes.
Ultimately, the best food and wine pairings depend on your personal preferences and the specific characteristics of the wine you choose. Feel free to experiment with our different natural wines.
