We're talking to you about his Winery
Angiolino Maule of Winery La Biancara (Veneto), is convinced - as we are - that the quality of the grapes comes from the care we give to the vines. This work continues in the winery: vinification, ageing and bottling. How can we not continue in the same direction and take the risk of compromising all the titanic work carried out in the vineyards? Therefore, these steps up to bottling are carried out without any additives. Angiolino began his professional life as a pizza chef for a dozen years! Visibly with a certain fame. But how does one go about making natural wines and vines?! You have to have it in your blood or hear voices... Anyway, thanks to his work and his savings, Angiolino bought, at the end of the 1980s, about 6 hectares in the hills of Gambellara, in the hamlet of Biancara. To locate you, it is between Verona to the west and Vicenza to the east. We are therefore at the very north of the Italian boot. Here, the soils are of volcanic origin, rich in minerals and fine clays. The Grape variety king is the Garganega (superb white wines). | The vines are planted at a height of about 200m on southern facing slopes protected from the northern winds. The soils have been ploughed, without inputs, for many years with practices that are more akin to biodynamics. The search for ecological balance also allows us to promote the health of the plant: learning to defend itself naturally. The fruit produces wine, with Man helping it to reach balance and maturity. Today, Winery covers 11 hectares. The work is done in family, with his wife Rosamaria and his elder sons Francesco and Alessandro. The old olive trees, apricot trees, fig trees and cherry trees also have to be maintained, allowing Rosamaria to make jams that will knock your socks off. Ahhh when organic is everywhere... everything is good! Since 2006, Angiolino Maule has been the president of the Vinnatur.org association, which brings together more than 170 producers in 9 countries. A convinced, definitivamente! |
