Loire wines: our selection of organic, biodynamic and natural wines
From the Atlantic to the Centre region, the Loire vineyard is very vast. With soils of schist, silica, chalk (tufa) or clay, and a climate that varies from mild oceanic to harsh continental, it is easy to understand the great diversity in its natural wines. The same grape varieties are found in the sixty or so appellations: cabernet, gamay, pinot noir, pineau d'Aunis, côt, melon, sauvignon, chardonnay, chenin, romorantin... Some of the white wines are racy, with great ageing potential, dry, semi-dry, sweet and sparkling ; others are simpler , more fresh and light. The red wines have a good range of fresh, fruity, crisp and easy to digest wines.
The diversity of Loire wines
Covering some 1,000 square kilometres, the Loire vineyards are among the largest in France. Four regions distinguish this land of the Loire: the Pays Nantais, Anjou, Touraine and the Centre. You will find on this page more than thirty passionate winegrowers of this beautiful region. The diversity of the Loire vineyards is reflected in the many grape varieties that can be found. There are a total of 24 different grape varieties in this vineyard. The climates are also very different depending on the area where you are located, varying from a very oceanic climate for the Nantes region to an increasingly continental climate for the Tourraine vineyard.
